The Upset Victory Are Here to Stay

Recharged and reloaded with more firepower than ever, The Upset Victory are proving yet again they are the up and coming champs of the Cincinnati indie music scene. Pumping out a driving, piercing mixture of rock, pop and alternative, this fearsome fivesome are the embodiment of true recording and performing diehards, releasing a continuous stream of new music while taking the stage every chance they get. With their latest release ‘Wall Street’ following up previously successful releases like 'Before the World Ends,' the group is prepared to make their indelible mark from coast to coast.

Stephen Campbell (guitar), Frank Hammonds (guitar/vocals), Eric Vice (bass), Jason Dill (vocals), and Aaron Roy (drums) formed The Upset Victory in 2006, announcing their arrival to the world with their self-titled EP on Takeover Records the following year. The band exhibits their natural ear for songwriting with a keen tendency for penning catchy, memorable songs each and every time they hit the recording studio.

The Upset Victory caught the attention of labelmates Yellowcard, following their initial release - "In the last ten years I have found only a few bands that I think are innovative and breaking the mold. TUV is the best band that I see doing this right now," said Warren Cooke, former bass player for the violin wielding pop-punk unit.

With four more EPs and a single under their belt, they unleashed 'Before the World Ends' in May 2012 on Authentik Artists, while hitting airwaves and stages to promote their sixth studio release. More licensing deals were made for ‘Before the World Ends’ including “Flee the Scene” and "The Worst In Me” being featured on MTV.

Media fanfare swiftly ensued, including appearances on the Bunbury Music Festival lineup, Class X Radio, 96ROCK, The Fox 92.5, The Project, Idobi Network, and WEBN, features on the Guitar Shop TV, Cincy Music and Infectious Magazine websites, as well as album reviews on multiple online music resources. The Upset Victory shared the stage with the likes of Strung Out, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, MxPx, Story of the Year, Bayside, Molly Hatchet, Cartel, Four Year Strong and Hit the Lights following the record’s release.

Recorded in Orlando’s Starlight Studios with famed producer Brock BerryHill and engineer Evan Coffman, ‘Wall Street’ marked an entirely new chapter for The Upset Victory. With masterful production quality and brilliant mixing, the world experienced the band at their absolute cleanest and tightest moments, without losing the gritty rock edge fans have come to love. Chockfull of hair-raising melodies and choruses capable of driving wide-eyed listeners to sing along until their lungs threaten to burst, each track is another bullet through the brain of boring, carbon-copy radio rock.

AMP Magazine recognized the bands efforts, saying "It's a rare treat these days to find a band so goal driven and as full of passion as The Upset Victory. Between cranking out incredibly energetic shows and dropping albums like they're hot, this group of Ohioans also strives to be different..."

Featuring three of their most popular cuts, “Fake This,” “Sellin’ My Soul,” and “In Our Hands,” ‘Wall Street’ was signed over to Gas Can Music Publishing in California in mid-2013. The Upset Victory continued to blast off from there, headlining The Madison Theater as part of their 8 year anniversary show and releasing a music video for “Fake This,” which was featured on VEVO Rock Playlist and hit over 8,500 outlets throughout the country in summer 2013 via Pulse Records. “Sellin’ My Soul” was another hit, landing on the NFL Network, NFL AM, and ESPN, while the band claimed features in Relix Magazine and Papercut Magazine, along with performances at the Bunbury Music Festival (alongside fun., MGMT, The National) and the 2014 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. The band will be returning to the 2014 Bunbury Music Festival again this summer playing in company with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and The Flaming Lips.

"When I first heard the music of The Upset Victory, I was hooked. I got to know them and quickly learned they are one of the hardest working bands out there. With years of experience and success under their belts, they always know how to look ahead and keep a highly respectable work ethic. Then there is their live show; these guys bring it better than the rest and prove why they are here to stay," said Gas Can Music’s own Bob Bradley.

‘Wall Street’ can be streamed and purchased via their official website and Spotify, with 'Before the World Ends' and the rest of their catalog available on iTunes, Amazon and all major digital retailers. Writing and preproduction for their follow up release is already underway, so keep up with all the latest info via their official Facebook page to ensure you don’t miss one breathtaking moment from this indie phenomenon.
